My Black Friday Haul

     One of my passions besides green beauty is minimalism – so it may seem a little funny that I’m going to share everything I purchased during Black Friday sales. The reason I am going to share and want to share is because this year I treated myself to some things I’ve really been wanting and I very consciously supported businesses that share some of of my core values. I’m so happy that there is a wave of acknowledgment for supporting small, local businesses over chain stores when possible and by sharing what I decided to spend my money on it helps spread that message! 
     In addition to that I purchased some of these items as gifts and some of them are things I’m really excited to try and see if they make the cut for my permanent skin care collection. I think one of the most important things about minimalism is knowing when you have too much of something, and it’s a personal balancing act, there is no “right” answer that fits everyone. For me I try to stay present and honest with myself about how much I have of something and when it’s time to pair down. If I use a product for a while and decide it’s wonderful in general but just not for me then I find it a new home with a friend or family member. And that’s how I keep waste down and minimalism present even when I’m shopping and buying new items.

     On a more practical side, since this is the only sale most of these small businesses run for the entire year so in my mind it also makes some sense to stock up and take advantage of the savings while they’re here. Not to say that there isn’t still a lot of room for trying not to over-consumer and over-purchase because there definitely is, but it’s why I just try to stay present and mindful in order to help balance it out. (I’ll also have my budget and credit card on lockdown for several months because I won’t need any new products for quite a while!)

 

Onto my haul!

 

     I haven’t tried anything from Leahlani yet so I’m really happy to get a few of these amazing masks that I’ve heard so much about! I’m also planning a blog post comparing her Meli Glow mask to Mahalo Care’s The Petal mask (requested).

 

     I’ve been following sweet Patrick for a while now and have been dying to try his all natural perfumes! Honestly I can’t believe it took me this long to finally buy the sampler set to see what I love most, doesn’t hurt to save a little money during a sale though.

 

     Pretty much everything from Earthwise Beauty is TOP NOTCH. Like you really can’t go wrong and I’m saying this after trying only a handful of Ava’s products. I am stoked to get my hands on her new balm, Tigress, and also her famous Nap in the Meadow serum. Carrot a Day eye serum is a miracle worker so that’s a restock for me after using up a sample.

 

     Amanda, The Organic Bunny, is the first green beauty blogger I ever followed and she really helped me discover and ignite my passion for toxic-free beauty and lifestyle. Now she has her own curated store full of only the best of the best and I couldn’t help but stock up. Most of these are new purchase for me so look forward to some review posts coming soon!

 

     I currently use the Lomi Lomi body oil every morning, it smells so floral and fresh to start the day and is just a lovely oil. The Steam Stones is a new one for me but the notes of lemongrass hooked me right away!

 

     I’ve been wanting to get myself a “starter” set of crystals to keep around my house and use during meditation, etc. Energy Muse had the perfect sets all ready for me, I’m so excited to get my hands on these!
