My Morning Routine

I thought it would be fun to talk about the routines that I’ve grown to love and all the products that my skin loves. Let’s start with my morning routine!
I think there is some, not necessarily controversy, but talk about whether or not to cleanse your skin in the morning. Issues like that are best resolved on a personal case-by-case basis in my opinion. If you love using a cleanser and cleansing your face each morning then that’s what you should continue doing. If you don’t like cleansing and just like to tone and moisturize, then that’s what you should continue doing.
For me, I actually do both depending on the day. I only shower every other day, so on the mornings I shower I also cleanse with a cleanser in the shower (this is also a point of contention for some, again, you do you!) and then on my dry shampoo days I don’t cleanse and I simply wipe my face with toner on an organic cotton pad.
So enough of the technical details and on to the products that I’m loving!

cleanse

Linné Botanicals
In the shower I’ve been loving this cleanser, scrub, mask. The tea tree, lime, and cypress smell so freaking good. I like to rub this into my face towards the end of my shower, it lathers just a little bit, and has really small exfoliating granules that exfoliate gently. Then I leave it on for 5-10 minutes as a mask and wash it off right before I get out.

tone

Pure Luxe Apothecary
This is my favorite product from Pure Luxe; seriously this is the best toner ever. It’s simply rosewater, witch hazel, aloe, and rose essential oil. I think it’s the simple ingredients that make it so calming for my skin. I also love that used with an organic cotton pad it removes all the fine particles and residue that might be left behind.

serum

Kaia Earth
An aloe-based serum that just gives my skin a nice layer of calm, we also have calendula and rosewood in there for added benefit. Since it’s aloe/water based it sinks in really quickly and is super light weight. It’s a really nice serum for layering more products on top of.

KYPRIS
If my skin is having a any kind of breakout I rotate this into my routine for a few days and it helps my skin heal quite a bit faster. Ingredients like zinc, fruit-derived AHA’s, lilac leaf stem cells, green tea, and lavender make this heaven for your skin when it’s acting up. Since this is water-based it sinks in like a dream and makes it super easy to layer underneath all your other products.

moisturize

Pure Luxe Apothecary
A really simple blend of oils that soak in immediately and give my skin a nice layer of hydration. Argan oil is a staple in many medicine cabinets because it soaks into your skin so beautifully and gives it a ton of moisture. We also have rose, grapefruit, frankincense, juniper berry and cypress essential oils that smell amazing!

Earthwise Beauty
I have been alternating and using Tangerine Skies some days when my skin is a littler drier now that autumn weather has officially set in. This is a coconut oil based moisturizer so it’s in solid form and has a more balm-like consistency. I’ve always loved coconut oil for my skin (not everyone’s skin likes coconut oil) especially for dryer weather or when my skin needs a little extra hydration. What I love most is that this is still light enough for using during the day underneath my makeup.

prime

SkinOwl
This is an essential part of my morning routine. Whether I’m wearing makeup or not my final step of skin care is using Beauty Whip. It gives the most amazing layer of moisture that my skin soaks right up and then I’m ready for foundation if I’m wearing any. If I skip foundation my skin has the most incredible glow from this stuff. This stuff is full of so many amazing ingredients I can’t even list them all but some highlights are aloe as the first ingredient, hyaluronic acid, MSM, and maqui berry concentrate (of course!).
(Bonus tip: Mix this with a little of Earthwise Beauty’s Farad’s Veil sun protection powder for some flawless SPF)

There you have it! I know for myself I love seeing other bloggers’ skin care routines because sometimes it gives you inspiration to try something new or it introduces you to a new product that you might be missing out on. Hopefully you enjoyed reading a little about my current morning routine, and as always if you have any questions or suggestions please reach out!

*I purchased all products with personal funds except Tangerine Skies which was a free gift with purchase, and Pure Moisturizer which was gifted to me by the brand for my honest review.
